Theory
The band structure describes the eigenvalues of the orbitals throughout the Brillouin zone. It gives a detailed insight into the material determining many optical and transport properties. A band structure is often visualized along high symmetry paths. Some external tools[1][2] help to identify these points for materials of any symmetry.
